It is not a gate. The Academy is not a requirement for taking part and does not certify anyone automatically. You can pick up a function today without passing through it. It exists to make that easier, never to stand in front of it.

The problem it addresses

Open projects ask for expertise they do not teach, which quietly restricts them to people who already had access. Formation is the difference between an open door and a door that only looks open.

Why the rest depends on it. An organization that cannot teach can only recruit, and it will keep recruiting from the same places.

Where this stands

Drayker has internal material on the academy that is not published yet. Nothing public states what the first path would be, how a lesson attaches to a function, or how somebody is supported while learning.

Nothing described here is implemented. This repository exists so that the first document about it has somewhere to live and someone can argue with it in public.

How it fits the whole

How someone becomes able to take a function — the bridge where study stops being preparation and becomes participation.

In Drayker, work and study converge: the repetitive load goes to the machines, and what stays with people is the creating, the discovering and the learning. The Academy is where that learning is shaped to a real function, so contributing is how the study gets used. It reads from Dknowledge and feeds what people learn back into it; formation is attached to work on the projects platform, so entering without credentials is a starting point rather than a wall. Identity runs through it via UID — the same profile the Dk personal agent keeps, the same profile volunteer levels and universal basic income are evaluated against. The stations carry the physical side: spaces, laboratories, and the communities where the study happens together.

First functions

These are concrete and unclaimed. Any of them can be opened as an issue and delivered by one person.

  1. Build one pilot learning experience: a single problem, one observable delivery and one human review. Small enough to run, concrete enough to judge.
  2. Describe the first path someone should be able to take.
  3. Write how a function and a lesson attach to each other.
  4. Argue what makes an open project genuinely enterable.

How to contribute

Read CONTRIBUTING.md and GOVERNANCE.md in the organization. In short: open or find an issue, say in the thread that you are taking it, branch as fn/<issue-number>-<short-name>, and open a pull request against master. There is no separate review branch.

Participation is voluntary and implies no compensation, employment or future claim.
